This show was great. I didn’t start watching it until years later but Tim is really funny, unlike some of those family shows that try to be. The only one to me that comes close is married with children, fucking hilarious. The funniest parts of the show is when Tim asks Wilson for some advice and when he tries to reiterate to Jill, he usually says it backwards.

a little of both. The material was dated, hard to do as they got older, and the actors – Jill talks about how she didnt like her character just staying home, etc. But I agree with you – wish it was still on new everyday lol

I still watch reruns of this show and never get sick of it. I loved the humor and especially loved the character of Tim. Not only was he funny, but he had so many qualities that were so true to life. His and Jill’s fights were so realistic, too. They had such chemistry on the show. You don’t find TV families like these anymore these days.

I think Home Improvement wanted to end the show while in the Top 10 and not wait till they were at the bottom and people stopped watching. They wanted to finish on top.

i never realized when i was younger all the tongue and cheek adult humor the show had (obviously), but watching M-F on TBS now (21 years old) i see all the crude but hilarious jokes they make.
love this show. always have, always will. addicting.

I’ve watched every episode 4 or 5 times, it’s one of those shows that never get old.
My question is if the show never left the top 10 then why did they stop producing it. The only reason I can think of is they either ran out of material or the actors were tired of it.

Nope, it’s not just you. E true hollywood story ALWAYS exaggerates things. It’s like they’re making up drama. I don’t believe it at all. Everything else I’ve seen of this show has everyone getting along just fine.
